On November 21, 2007 The Kings Party Tents donated tents, chairs, and tables to our annually Thanksgiving Feast. We  greatly appreciate  them.

Pastor Burno a long time member of the Fayetteville City Rescue Mission designed the tables and centerpieces for the occasion. Highland First Presbyterian Church the number one supporting church for the Fayetteville City Rescue Mission donated three hundred prepared meals.

On November 22, 2007 we held our annual Thanksgiving Feast. The Girls Scouts Troop 1685 and Brownies Troop 1232 came. So did Faith, Hope, and Love Youth Ministries a youth group came to help. We uplifted, fed, and clothed the needy.

The Girl Scouts and Brownies served the food while the Faith, Hope, and Love Youth Ministries gave out clothes, blackets, coats, and socks. We had other volunteers that help make our annually Thanksgiving Feast a sucess.

The Fayetteville City Rescue Mission former residents had a game of football with the kids and some of the other volunteers. The homeless and needy enjoyed the show as well as the food.

Hi everyone my name is Sarah Lynn Harrison and you will be following me around this issue. First let me tell you about myself. I am 23 years old and is homeless have been homeless for about 11 months. I have been at The Fayetteville City Rescue Mission's volunteering secretary for all of the 11 months. The Mission has help me greatly in helping me build myself up. As well as take time for me in sorting out a lot of my problems that I have.

I came to the Fayetteville City Rescue Mission when I came to Fort Bragg through my brother who was in the Army. I couldn't stay with him because he was living in the barracks. You see my mother and father and grandmother are deceased I have no one but the Mission without them I would be totally alone.

When I first went into Lane Bryant I wasn't looking for a job. But I was looking for interview clothes things that is nice, comfortable as well as fashionable. When the sale representative found out I was homeless and trying to better myself. They gave me clothes so I will have some nice clothes to wear when I go into the work force.

When the store manager offer me a seasonal job I'm like sure I thought it was a great idea. It will be a way for me to get out of the mission and out on my own and live a productive life in the real world. As well as being able to meet new people in a different environment. I work in the Lane Bryant in the Cross Creek Mall.

Now it is my first day and it is scary because its new I haven't work in a year so I didn't know what to excepted but it turn out good it was tiring experience but I love it, its fun. I help a lot of people with finding clothes and fitting them in to the right outfit. Well I will sign off for today see you next issue.
